What is the difference between UCF Dining Services' Flexbucks and UCF Smart Cash?

UCF Smart Cash is money placed on the UCF SmartChip in one of the three purses. Money can be added to these purses at the Card Office, in a campus Cash-to-Chip machine, or on the WebRevalue website. Smart Cash can be spent at all retailers on campus (including all Dining Services locations) and a number of off-campus retailers.

Flexbucks can only be placed on the magstripe at the UCF Dining Services' Office. This money can be spent at all Dining Services locations.

Why are the purses merging and what does this mean to me?

In order to simplify the smartcard declining debit program, Purse 3 will merge with Purse 2 effective May 5, 2008. Your UCF Card will now have only Purse 1 (Vending) and Purse 2 (General Retail).

Purse 2 will be used for restaurants, retailers, bookstores and tuition. On- and off-campus vendors will continue to accept Purse 3 until funds are depleted. All new deposits will be placed on Purse 1 or Purse 2.

All vendors will continue to accept Purse 3 until your funds are depleted. All new funds added after May 5th will be added to Purse 1(Vending) and/or Purse 2(General Retail/Tuition) only.
